Hey Steve,

After all this time i tried the HD audio drivers on my system and they worked!
WTF, i had no idea i had HD audio, thought it was realtek something?

Massive thanks to ClusterUK and also DaveAE. I'll try to get a donation headed your way asap.

It shows up in AHI prefs, but the frequency is set to 0 and the slider is shaded out so you can't move it.

So I'm kind of stuck. HDAudio works fine on my desktop. I'm using the latest HDAudio, with the older one I can't get it to show up at all.

Strange problem and hard to figure out since Sashimi gets no info :(

It seems that the frequency list is not determined correctly (which may in turn be a result of other problems). I currently don't have time to look into supporting hdaudio codecs other than those on iMica and AresOne.

Hi ppl i am not sure if this normal or sounds like a unnormal to me just installed aros nighty to my (ASUS EeePC900) and everyting works but sound just works after i add QUERY to the config file than reboot aros the sound start to work and than again when i remove QUERY off the config the sound stop working.

On my acerAspireOne everything works without any problem but with my EeePC900 sound like we have a problem captain and is there a trick or tool to fix ?

This is a feature, not a problem, unless I misunderstood you. If I understood you correctly, everything works now, or doesn't it?

The QUERY mechanism is a way to try to get a hdaudio chip working without me having written specific support for it.

Maybe DaveAE will come back to you later, it seems that the codec AD1984 has not been added to the driver yet (linux hp-m4).

Been added to wiki, thanks.

Jeff.

I've tried it on my HP mini 1000.

It shows up in AHI prefs, but the frequency is set to 0 and the slider is shaded out so you can't move it.

I checked the hardware with PCI Tools and it was already in the config list (3rd down I think). I tried adding QUERY to the config. I tried not using the config list at all.

Same thing every time. It shows up, but frequency is 0 and grayed out.

Sashimi from aros:tools/debug pretty much does no good. When I hit "play sample sound" with Sashimi running I get an error "Division by O" and AHI prefs crashes, but Sashimi records no information.

Hi Dave, I've recently bought an Acer Aspire laptop (not a netbook, but a Centrino2 notebook). HDaudio driver doesn't work properly on it: I can't get audio from speakers, but once I connect a headset to the SPDIF/Headphone out (I love those "multiple do-it-all auto-reconfigurable out" connectors), I can hear some random noises and cracklings evocating, somehow, the audio I should hear. I will send you a complete report of the hardware specs and the files you asked for as soon as possible.

Ok, please PM me your email address and I'll send you a new version of the driver to test.

Secondly, can you state the version of the driver you use now and do the following:
* Reboot
* Start sashimi from aros:tools/debug
* Make the sashimi window taller
* start ahi prefs
* select the hdaudio mode
* press the test sound button
* post or email the output of sashimi

Before I selected the HD audio driver the movie was out of sync, but now it works but with no sound.

I keep finding this interesting and funny..

Quote:

When I played a movie before with Mplayer the movie was out of sync

When you played a movie before and it was out of sync, you must have heard audio (because that's what out of sync means, a difference between video and audio). So, did you use a sound card (emu10kx?) with MPlayer?

If yes, installing the hd audio driver will NOT solve any sync issues with MPlayer playing through the emu10kx.

If no, that means that in the past you used the hd audio driver and it worked.

Is bearsofts Soundchip now running?
I ask because i found a nice board for a AresOne revision which uses VIA VT1708S too.

And clusteruk asked some time before if the Realtek 8112L is supported by the RTL8169.device. Is it?

I will order one to test it.
