It seems that the frequency list is not determined correctly (which may in turn be a result of other problems). I currently don't have time to look into supporting hdaudio codecs other than those on iMica and AresOne.

This is a feature, not a problem, unless I misunderstood you. If I understood you correctly, everything works now, or doesn't it? The QUERY mechanism is a way to try to get a hdaudio chip working without me having written specific support for it.

Maybe DaveAE will come back to you later, it seems that the codec AD1984 has not been added to the driver yet (linux hp-m4).
Been added to wiki, thanks. Jeff.

I've tried it on my HP mini 1000. It shows up in AHI prefs, but the frequency is set to 0 and the slider is shaded out so you can't move it. I checked the hardware with PCI Tools and it was already in the config list (3rd down I think). I tried adding QUERY to the config. I tried not using the config list at all. Same thing every time. It shows up, but frequency is 0 and grayed out. Sashimi from aros:tools/debug pretty much does no good. When I hit "play sample sound" with Sashimi running I get an error "Division by O" and AHI prefs crashes, but Sashimi records no information. So I'm kind of stuck. HDAudio works fine on my desktop. I'm using the latest HDAudio, with the older one I can't get it to show up at all. Strange problem and hard to figure out since Sashimi gets no info :(

Hi Dave, I've recently bought an Acer Aspire laptop (not a netbook, but a Centrino2 notebook). HDaudio driver doesn't work properly on it: I can't get audio from speakers, but once I connect a headset to the SPDIF/Headphone out (I love those "multiple do-it-all auto-reconfigurable out" connectors), I can hear some random noises and cracklings evocating, somehow, the audio I should hear. I will send you a complete report of the hardware specs and the files you asked for as soon as possible.

Is bearsofts Soundchip now running? I ask because i found a nice board for a AresOne revision which uses VIA VT1708S too. And clusteruk asked some time before if the Realtek 8112L is supported by the RTL8169.device. Is it? I will order one to test it.

Btw, I'd like to hear from people that tried the hd audio driver on a mini laptop and didn't get sound (or the hdaudio mode didn't show up).
