Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not very user friendly, doesn't look like something that is mobile friendly either and requires JavaScript. Ideally I'd like to get rid of captcha's all together.

Regarding your first point; yes, thats something that will eventually be implemented when migrating away from the xoops/newbb forum, I'm not sure if there exists a module for xoops but I'm not willing to spend much time on xooops. What I might already do in the near future is add a naive bayes spam filter that should catch most of them.

The second point I'm not willing to consider, because all it does is get in the way of real uses. The spam bots have more patience and don't always post right away, but are happy to wait for 48h.

I guess this is not of my concern, but is there not an module to incooperate into this forum that slows down or stops spammers better? for example:

1. something that allows regular users with a certain amount of posts to flag a new posts as spam, and if a certain amount of flags is set, the post is removed escpecially if the spam poster is a new registered user.

2 Put a delay on new users to post within a certain amount of hours like 48h or more?

I say this because I really dislike (read hate) that a company, like for example Nike pay other people to destroy other peoples, you whomever started this forum or for that matter blogs with aggressive advertising as it is called.

In my world (which is perfect) if this happened widespread and regulary from the same brand, that brand would receive big fines. Unfortunatly I am not the world "leader". But you may vote for it.

Anyway point 1 & 2 ? Perhaps something to think about?
