@PortablE:
You're welcome PortablE. tbh, it was a wild (lucky) guess. So, from the information extracted i'm tempted to conclude that indeed (and perhaps unfortunate) the 'blacklist' is still in place. I tend to agree with your point of view, even though i have no say in it. Your question would better be (re)directed to one of the sysops of the forum ? afaik several suggestions to 'improve' things have been made in the past and none of those making the suggestion(s) maintain the forums. I don't believe i'm in a position to question sysop(s) decisions on such matters. If mentioned user is unable to use another mail provider, then the only thing i can currently think of is trying one of the other AROS related forums such as arosworld.org, amigaforum.de or amigacoding.de (even though i realize that this is quite inconvenient for your PortablE support). atm i don't even know if sysop is able to 'lift' the restriction for a particular account or not (in which case that could perhaps be a solution). Of course that would require some correspondence from 3th (already registered) party with one of the admins. Thank you for offering support to/for the user in question.

Perhaps the user in question attempted to register with one of the mail providers listed in this news item ? OK, thanks. He uses a hotmail.com address, so going by that 2011 news item, it seems he's blacklisted ![]() But I can't see why gmail & hotmail addresses should be blacklisted anymore, as SPF authentication means it's no-longer possible to spoof email address (without being detected). Big email providers like gmail & hotmail have enabled SPF, so I doubt spammers use their domains anymore... and even if they did, it should be possible to use SPF to detect such spoof emails.

I am still here even though i am not super active writing in the forum anymore :). As for the question, i can see no failed register attempts, have the user try again and post a screenshot of what happens to my PM.

Should be automatic when not using one of the 'blacklisted' mail providers. Other than that and afaik both 4play and impy are indisposed atm did the user checked his spam folder ? (seems to happen sometimes).

I've been told that someone tried to register for this site, but "nothing happened".
Does anyone know who has the power to OK site registration attempts?
