I have the same problem. Trying to play an aiff sample with c:play returne a "Can?t open file.aiff as a Datatype object" message. And with Multiview I get a small window with just an Ok button and no sound. Same samples play fine with Multiview under AOS3.5. It seems an aiff.datatype is missing from Classes/Datatype in AROS. There is one in my AOS3.5 installation

I don't know if it has been reported already or if I am doing something wrong, but the play command in the C directory dosen't seem to work.
With wave or 8svx files there is no error message. It just doesn't play any sound. The same files play fine using multiview. Edit: Ignore below. Apparently there is no Aiff or ogg datatype class at this time. My mistake. If I try to play ogg or Aiff files, the play command returns a datatype error message. Even though there is a datatype for these files. Multiview also has a problem playing the ogg and Aiff datatype files.
