<p>A bit more information on an old Paper Cut "<a href="http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3443207&group_id=43586&atid=2501660">Second copy of app always opens on Workbench screen</a>". The cause actually applies to all Zune settings.</p><p>When you open multiple instances of an application, you'll see "APPLICATION.2.prefs", "APPLICATION.3.prefs" in ENVARC:Zune.</p><p>These settings are copied from global Zune prefs rather than the application's own prefs file (if it exists).</p><p>What's the expected behaviour for MUI? I don't see why you'd want multiple prefs files for an app at all unless you want rainbow coloured browser windows. (now there's a thought!)</p><p>Chris</p>

In the general case, (apps written to intuition, gadtools, or whatever) if you wanted an app to have the option to open a new screen for itself it should probably have a wb tooltype/cli keyword "OPENSCREEN" which can be parsed at runtime and do the right thing.

Quote: It works for me (TM) with Annotate... Ok, now i cannot say anymore that it does not completely work for me :). /me was stupid in running ann.aros -> which results in immediate closing of the screen... Quote: Are you sure "Frontmost set as default public screen" is set (checked) in IControl preferences? Yes i'm sure it is set :). See also the formentioned stupid error by me. I've now got annotate in it's own screen running \o/, so thank you for that. regards,

@Ball000:
sorry for interrupting your conversation... Quote: It should work with any application as long as it doesn't try to open on a specific screen (requiring to open on Workbench screen exclusively is requiring such a specific screen). Which application did you find that don't work with this procedure? i cannot make it happen for annotate for example. And here it actually makes sence since my highlighting colorscheme is garbled and different each time i start the application. In all honestly i don't know if annotate supports a tooltype or startup-parameter to display on another default screen. So perhaps /me is :banana: regards,

Of course programs do not require to run on their own screen. Otherwise they would not open up without one. I WANT to open them on another screen because I hate Workbench being cluttered full of windows. I need to organise my workspace. I am no messy
![]() Thanks, that guide helps for Scout. It does not work for non-MUUI appkications. Is there any way to do it for them, too?

Normally, programs don't require to open on a specific screen, so they accept to open on the current screen if it is public, or the first public screen if the current screen is not public. Until Zune is improved to correctly behave with PSI defined screens, a working procedure is described here to open Scout on its own screen, which should work with any normal program: http://aros-exec.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=5685&forum=1&post_id=53346#forumpost53346

Ah, I understand now. Yes, this would cover my issue if the apps were directly opened on a new screen without manually open them before. But what about programs that do not have MUI settings? Can they also be opened on another screen? For example Scout has no option (or I do not find it) to open it on another screen. Can I put it somewhere else by any trick? Or non-MUI programs?
