hi, i have mailed marcus and here is his answer:

It does sound, but isn't very cleaned up and is lacking lots of functionality such as recording and volume control. I'm afraid I haven't had much time for aos4 hacking lately... i had replied him asking if it will be open source and that maybe teamaros can help in the missing functionalities. (did i make right?) :vik1: |

I haven't started on that yet. I'm still making notes on it. I'm making changes to the cacheing in the filesystem right now, then I'm going to do the VIA 823x audio driver, then the Unichrome video driver.

Any news on the Nehemiah, Unichrome front? That's my box too and I am very eager to see what an accelleration would do to it! Perhaps more pressing would be support for the Rhine, since I have no networking at the moment.

My older one is a P3 with S3 Savage Pro and ESS Alegro audio, and my new one is a VIA Nehemiah with VIA/S3 Unichrome and VT8235 audio.
I've got a variety of drivers on my schedule, but I suppose I could look into those eventually if no one else does.

I believe he has a VIA chipset laptop with Unichrome VGA (Which is an S3 with a different name coz VIA bought S3). I could be wrong though.
