If PortablE says it has finished parsing an example without errors, but then GCC reports some cryptic C compiler errors, then you are probably missing some C header files.
Luckily you can find them included in the PortablE installation archive, in the "useful_C_stuff" folder. You will then need to extract the LHA archive for the relevant OS into your C compilers' "include" folder; here are hints for some OSes: AmigaOS4 (EDIT: this should no-longer be necessary!) In the "useful_C_stuff" folder, double click on the "GCC_includes_AmigaOS4.lha" archive to open it in UnArc. For the Destination put "SDK:Local/common/include" (without quotes), then click on Start. Thats it! (And I will include an installation icon to do this in the next preview release.) AROS - IcarosLive Everything should come with AROS, if you installed a recent release of IcarosLive with Developer stuff.
