I had the same problem on my macmini ... however I was able to get it to work by saving a vesa screen-mode then restarting with the intel gma. It's a long shot but you could try it. =]

There are some problems with the GMA driver parsing EDID information from some display devices. There is no commandline parameter that you could pass in from grub I'm afraid.

When I try launching Icaros 1.2.5 on my iMica, the GMA driver defaults to a resolution that my monitor doesn't support. I can launch successfully in the lower resolution VESA mode.
Where do I find the settings to adjust my GMA resolution while in VESA mode?
