Why does info show a different size to HDtoolbox, help me!

Info is obviously only using 32bits. As such, it only handles a max of 4G. Since your drive is 9.5G, it wraps around twice (8G) and gives you the leftover amount of 1.5G. Info needs to be updated to use 64bit math on partitions.

It gets stranger...
I now have everything re-installed, and dont get the missing operating system anymore.
I get a blank screen.
Aros begins to try to load, and fails.
I built it from a nightly build disc, that I know boots and works from CD.
If I boot from CD, then remove the disc and soft reset, it boots from HD.

Well, I followed the three videos perfectly.
I partitioned the drive as shown, I formatted the drive as shown and I installled AROS as shown.

Nothing.
Previously ive been in a situation where grub loaded, but couldnt find the HD partition, it was (HD0) not (HD0,0), but now i cant even get that. I just want to know, is it meant to be "normal", "LBA" or "Large"? for the HD type.

When I try to boot my correctly installed native AROS on HD i get,
"Missing Operating System"

If I boot from CD, then soft reset without the CD in, it boots from the HD.

I remember hearing ages ago that the autodetect on the HD could cause problems and it should be manualy set to a particular mode, but I cant remember what mode. Ive failed to find reference to this in the forums now.

Can anybody give me a straight definitive answer on what mode the HD SHOULD be in to run aros?
