Did you also try the screenmodes

Emergency mode (DVD Only)
and
the last one (Slow ATA)

I had some success with those, but then my boot stopped at a black screen with no mouse icon at all so maybe that indicates another problem.

On some hardware aros is not happy with usb. you could try to use a ps2 mouse, or a usb to ps2 adapter.
At least take out all devices from usb ports and see if that helps.

Problem running live dvd
#1
Hello all - First post here, and I'm very excited to be involved.

So I downloaded the live dvd version last night, and it booted fine within windows. However, when I rebooted my computer to run from the live dvd, I ran into some problems.

I made it past the grub menu, and got as far as a blank screen with the mouse icon up in the upper left corner. Then it just sat there and did nothing. I tried a couple of different screen resolutions choices, but always the same - just a blank screen with the mouse showing. (I have a usb mouse, so I couldn't move it yet...)

I have an nvidia card with dual monitors set up - do you think that could be the problem? Any other thoughts? I can provide more information tonight when I get home. I can't wait to get a native install on a hard drive...

I'm running AMD quad core phenom processor, sata drives, NVidia (don't remember the exact card but it's not too high end and about a year old) Audigy-ZS sound card...

Thanks in advance for the help!
