For Quake & Doom map files you may want to have a bash with AROS Max

(end of shameless plug!)

For UAE put a rom file called kick.rom in the same directory as UAE, and you can follow the DOS UAE FAQ on creating .rc files here as most of the options from there work fine. I'm sure there's better ways of doing this, but that's all I've had time to work out so far

That is about what all the devs do, work on it when they want.

Thanx for this quick answer.

For the boot problem, the machine I used for the test (one of my work), is well configured (floppy,CD,HD) prehaps it is a problem with my iso, even if I have a doubt about it.

Anyway, it works fine with floppy and CD...I will try again at home.

For UAE, the problem is that all my sources are on the CD (I adjust the iso with WinIso), and I don't know the command-line to use files in another directory.

While I'm here, I'm asking myself if I can join the team-effort to develop AROS. I know C, C++ and I now develop C# under Microsoft .Net. So, even if I never coded drivers, can i be helpful? Is it a time-consuming task or can I work when I want?

Hi everyone,

First of all, thx for the great job around AROS...I appreciate to rediscover Workbench, and even better on an x86!

You are welcome!

I download the AROS ISO for x86, and it can't boot (Error 15), but with the floppy and the CD, no prob!

Classic advises:
- Verify your IDE chain order, disks jumpers too. First must be a disk.
- Verify your BIOS boot order. Floppy, CD, HD.
- Edit the Grub kernel line to suit your needs e.g.:
nofdc : boot without floppy when present.
forcedma : force the ATA DMA mode when present.

I also tried UAE, but I can't tell him to use my rom and adfs...is there any User Guide or help?

They are.
You need regular map files to play with.
For UAE, the MUI interface isn't in a useable state, but if I remember well, a regular configuration file, imported from another UAE installation, should work.

Since I'm new, I will probably ask for things already asked.

So, let's rock!
