The development environment is mature, but for best results it needs doing on a hosted system as troubleshooting and getting data out of an AROS harddisk partition is VERY dificult in Native mode.
The master copies of AROS found at www.AROS.org contain the developer tools now.

A few questions by someone new to AROS

Hello everyone. I have a few questions that Id appreciate if someone could answer for me please. I am new to AROS, so I appologize if theyve been answered elsewhere beforehand.
Firstly Im interested in setting up a hdd installed AROS based machine (x86).... is this possible without also using a host OS, and if so how ?? Also once Ive got that done Id be intersted in doing some porting/recompiling of software to run on AROS. Could someone point me to somewhere that I could find an AROS version of GCC + Binutils (and anything else I may want or need) please ?? Also, how "mature" is its native development environment ?? Are NASM and SDL supported for example ?? Hmm... Im sure there was a few other things I wanted to ask, but too tired to think atm. Oh well, I'll just have to make another post if I remember :) Anyway, thanks in advance ppl. |
