Not yet checked under 2.1, but in 2.03 I still had to reinstall Hollywood manually because the install does not works at all. Hope now has been fixed.

Hmmm... this behavior of LUPD ages to years ago, when lines in icaros-sequence were put in user-startup instead (and changed at every release), I wonder if it still makes sense or not. Thanks, I will review it.

tested the new update pack: noticed this

current user-startup backup removed to ram:

can't see any user-startup in S:

IF I am correct the question might be, should you tamper with user-startup as it name suggest it is a user script, mine had a few things I like to keep.

the first LUPD propably found a user-startup and renamed it to the user-startup backup name, not installing a new user-startup, the new LUPD found user-startup backup, and moved it to RAM: and made no backup of user-startup as there where none so s: contained no user-startup, nor a user-startup backup

fortunatly I did not reboot.

logically: with current LUPD and update, when running a fresh update, LUPD is likely to remove user-startup into a backup one and not installing a new one.

REASON FOR EDIT, propably hard to follow, changed the flow and some typos

The issue impacts the update only. Both Icaros Live! and Light editions don't suffer for this.

PS: I have also restored also the missing Icons.

Update pack available again. People should just download it again using LUPD or OWB. And repeat updating. Sorry for the issue.

Dopus 4 or Dopus 5?

The config file for dopus 4 shouldn't have changed at all

The config file for dopus 5 might have changed if different (and not fully compatible) with the older one. Dopus 5 version changed, in fact.

Is the prefs files for DOPUS also changed?

Because they like... "changed" and some settings were restored to "fabric" settings, like backgrounds for desktop and drawers and as it seems - lister menu. If necessary I understand an update of those, but if not, the settings should remain (at least I think so).

I will try to download OWB manually.

Just in case you missed it, Icaros got a news item on one of the biggest IT-News sites in Germany:

Hi

Missing of .info files might be due to the script that creates the update package itself. It compares, with fdupes, two directories (one with new Icaros, the other with old one) and deletes all duplicated occurrencies, leaving only the files that had been changed or at least touched in the meanwhile. Problem with this script, unluckily, is that I have to double check for icons, since too much times new icons are just copies of other ones, and fdupes gets fouled by this, deleting also them. This time I may have overlooked something. Please report to me where missing icons are, and I will publish a patch.

For OWB not creating preferences... well... I'm a little puzzled here: it definitely SHOULD create them if they aren't there. I hope Deadwood might help lighten up things. But... now that I think about this...

Well, the simple answer is that I've been really dumb here: I forgot to add back to the OWB directory all that fdupes deleted, and this might explain why you had these issues: once the directory has been deleted, they wouldn't have been recreated. And, as you experinced, you just needed to replace OWB with the current (complete) build to fix this.

I'm fixing this right now...

Same here, but I think I was too zealous in deleting prefs files. Nothing wget-ing the latest OWB and manually installing couldn't fix.

Everything *seems* to have updated correctly, apart from

- I can't find the "demoscene" drawer mentioned in the update notes
- Some of the newer stuff seems to be missing .info files
