Maybe WirelessManager gives an error when the connection drops. To check this, disable starting networking at boot in Network prefs. After rebooting, run this:

C:WirelessManager atheros5000.device VERBOSE

Then this in another shell:

startnet

Then start a big download.

I been trying to download both to ram: and disk but the same problem occurs.
The router is zyxel p2602hwt I have no idea about the encrytion type.

I get a similar rate. Are you downloading to RAM or disk?

Maybe it's specific to the router you use. What model do you use? What encryption type (TKIP or AES)?

Neil: For me it happends almost all the time. It is more like I have to download the night build 3-4 times before it is successfull. Could it something with the amount of data than is transfered ? It is not that I have a very fast line, but from night builds I get around 250 kb/s If I rem.. correct.

How often does this happen? I've just done a test: I downloaded the latest pc-i386 nightly (around 90MB) three times with wget to the RAM disk successfully.

Could you try the same test please?

Neil: while we are talking about wifi could you try to download aros from night builds. Most of the times I do that the wifi connection stops working and I have to reboot. That is not only from Odyssey web-browser but alsu using wget.

To me it seams that the wifi driver have a tendency to crash if the internet line is pushed hard. A warm reset does not help, I have to turn off the computer to be able to connect again.

I've fixed the problem of wireless networks not disappearing from the prefs after all of them are removed. You'll need to get the Network prefs program from tomorrow's (2013-06-17) nightly or later.

However, could you give more details about the problem with WirelessManager hanging?

Hi I came up with some strange behaviour.

In prefs Network settings wireless settings I tried to "remove" my settings (blanking it in all with the remove button) then saved (or use) closing the network settings program.
Then restarted the prefs network program and klicked my way to wireless settings.. all old data is still in there..
Seems impossible to get rid off the old settings, except for deleting/altering the files in env:arostcp catalogs..

Would be interesting if anyone can reproduce this.

As additional information I can not load the wireless manager at start it hangs so I disable it with a temporary rename in c:

Im using the last public dist. and I lost wireless due to the wirless manager problem about version 1.5.1 when it started to hang it's process.
