now checked x86 v1 and it contains also only z_au.library. checked aros archives too just in case, with no result.

@wawa
they differ. as such it could be the culprit e.g. linking against wrong library. That's why i suggested the aros zlib version. details where discussed on dev-ML a while ago.

@magorium
Can you take a look please, if there is really a binary of a zlib.library for AROS68k and tell here where it can be found?

first of all i dont see any zlib.library on aros68k. i didnt check 386 v1 yet. instead there is two different versions of z_au.library in aros.iso and contributions. here i wonder why the library has to be built twice, the one in contribs quite a lot bigger, perhaps it conains debug symbols.
now even if there was a zlib.library, in this case it would need to be api compatible with the one here: http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/zlib-library (hope, thats the one in question)

If that's the case then it should be compiled for 68k as it is in the tree. I take it it's there for a reason.
I also remember two zlibs being present and named differently, i have no idea if that got something to do with it.

isn't that why aros uses it's own zlib library ?

Hi,
there is a discussion (in german language) on amiga-news about some issues with AROS68k (look here:http://www.amiga-news.de/forum/thread.php?id=34887&BoardID=6). It seems the most annoying one is that AROS68k immediatly crashes if you open the zlib.library for 68k/WOS (http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/zlib-library). I have no AROS68k system myself but wawa already has confirmed it. Please if any dev is able to take a look, why it crashes and maybe can fix it, this would help a lot to increase the compatibiliy of AROS68k. I assume, wawa would like to help here if a developer will try to fix it. ![]()
