Thank you mazze,

I guess that is where the limits come from, the 10 pixels is most probably the width of the right border (so that gadgets remain visible/useable).

Okey, I think we are now compatible enough. We are risking crashes if the console window can be made too small.

On AROS?

Oops, i thought it was clear.

The behaviour described by me was on classic 3.1 workbench. Since we seem to mimic that, i thought i give you a (little) heads up.

On AROS? I've seen that 10 pixel minimum width on AmigaOS3.9. The close gadget didn't react anymore with that small size.

Quote:

- using negative values for x and y are possible
- using negative values for w and h fills entire wb
- using negative values can be played with, but the right border is _always_ completly visible (hight + width) no matter what. So, the maximal negative value for x can be calculated.
- Using a negative y displays always from top of screen.

On AROS the parser for lines like "con:///..." doesn't check for "-", so it would just keep the default value of -1. That would mean full width and height.

@mazze:

having it not crash anymore is ofcourse excellent , but i wonder.

If i remember correctly it was possible this way to 'hide' the console window (i seem to remember something like 1x1 pixel window in top left to 'hide' it).

Someone out there that can confirm that ?

red: strike that i just checked.

CON:1/1/10/1 shows 10 pixel width window
CON:1/1/9/1 shows window with pixelwidth of wb

- using negative values for x and y are possible

Fixed. The size of the opened console window is at least 100x70 -> no more crash.

[FIXED] CONSOLE - 1.5.0

Dont know if this is known, but I if it is not then...

try this:

DIR C: >CON:////TITLE/AUTO

then try this

DIR C: >CON:0/0/0/0/TITLE/AUTO

in VBox it results in a crash...

The reason for this was simply to see if I could make the window con:sole "invisible".

Why would I like to do that??? Don't know why, I was only experimenting... It should not I think, crash out AROS...

As a sidenote, but I guess not a bug, CON:<position> do not accept negative values, even if it is possible to scroll windows outside of screen...

//Late edit
Due to global request that *fixed* bugs should be flagged as fixed, I do so, I have however not tested if it really is fixed, but if those who fix things don't know if it is fixed... How should I? So from now on it is fixed...
