Indeed the debug output is gone (tested with today's Nightly) - again thank you very much, Kalamatee!
Thus all sashimi output left in Vesa mode is the one below, i.e. just the AHI one is left but the CMI8738 debug output after booting is gone. While not noticeably slowing down the sound replay, the CMI8738 driver is still producing quite some debug output:
<a href="http://www.martin-heine.de/temp/130202_sound.zip">130202_sound.zip</a> Output has been generated by a native AROS installation (Icaros Desktop 1.5.1.1) booting with VESA true colour default settings. Until line 213 the sashimi output is of the boot process, i.e. the CMI8738 output originates from the Icaros boot sound. In the following lines, I've played the first 10 seconds of an example MP3 file included with Icaros Desktop in Extras:MyWorkspace/Music. CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955, 3.2 GHz Mainboard: MSI 770-C45 Memory: 4 GB RAM Video: ATI Radeon X1950 Pro, 512 MB (VESA) Sound: No-name, CMI8738-based Ethernet: Realtek RTL8111/8168B (on-board)
