Each operating system will be stored in the /dist/[operating system name] directory which will contain a disk image. The icons will be stored in the /dist/images directory. The main reason for using AROS as the main desktop is because linux distros using Gnome, KDE, xfce4, etc... are everywhere.

I am working on a new Linux distro called KVM OS. KVM OS is based of Ubuntu and AEROS and hopefully soon there will be a mobile version based off of AEROS and the x86 version of Android OS. The goal of KVM OS is to run multiple operating systems simultaneously using either KVM or VirtualBox. A user will be able to execute each operation system just by clicking on a icon on the desktop.

Sure. LX is usable on AmigaOS 68k, AROS68k, AROS (ARM) and AROS(x86) in the moment.

Don't mix "based on AEROS r4" with AEROS r4 ; )
What are you doing?

.... and for (retro) gamers Hi, some infos can be found here:http://www.facebook.com/indiegoretro It is aimed as new mini System besides the AresOne : audience = AROS users It is aimed as Amithlon-style System: audience = former Amithlon users It is aimed as Retro gaming device (plays everything PC(DOS,WIN,Linux,AROS,AmigaOS, consoles via emulation) It is aimed as nexgen gaming system based around Desura and Steam We will also publish physically some of the extraordinary Indie or retro games (relaunch). Those releases will be limited and certified. Actually we are quite mute except for the Facebook page and her on AE. First prototypes will be shipped in middle of this month. In order to raise the number Facebook -followers I announce a lottery. As soon we have 100 followers on Facebook I will let choose randomly one of the registered users at www.ares-shop.de . Then again at 250 followers, then again at 500 followers and then again at 1000 followers. Every chosen user will get a IndieGO! Prototype for free. If the numbers are reached after the release of the final system the chosen ones will get the final set (basic version). Actually The official IndieGO! Logo and website are WIP, as is the packaging and the DVD-case design.. (Ares logo is just a placeholder) The OS is based on AEROS r4. The official release will have no AROS preinstalled (may change, depends on some other decisions). Aeros r4 allows to automatically install AspireOS, IcAROS or Broadway so Amiga dealers can preinstall what they like. Also only AmigaOS if wanted Our stage 2 bootloader can be used to Install also OS's from other CPU-architectures, as long they are compatible to the available emulator engines. So you can basically choose to boot into AmigaOS 3.9 or AROS 68k or AtariTOS or RiscOS or Solaris or whatever you like. Gamers will love the fact that you can virtually throw any CD/DVD into the IndieGO!.. if not straight out of the box you can easily get the needed stuff via the software-center. !Lottery Prototypes won't come with an SSD or a DVD-drive! Only SD-card (factory loaded and copy-protected, you will have a second Partition for installation)!

Will I still be able to run Linux programs using using lx? If not then upgrading to AEROS r4 would be rather pointless; at least for what I am doing.

you will get one. If you like it you can keep it and we have a deal.

As devlish as i am, that leaves room for suggestions

So could i suggest, in case nikolaos does not like the machine, that this machine is transferred to one of our game-porters ? Expecially if the machine has full support for AROS.

For some strange reason BSzili and/or serk comes to mind

@moderator/admin:
For odd reasons beyond me, my previous post seems only visible in threaded mode. Flat/compact mode shows me only an empty space.

This reply solved it for me :/
