I must be rather unlucky with AROS. No joy for me. Tried also a wireless Chichony KB/Mse that works with everything I have ever used inc Android, Mac OSX, Windows, Linux, any machine. AROS doesnt like it.

I'll buy one of the Logitech's B110s as I intended to anyway and see if that helps.

Often the first thing I do after booting AROS is to press Right-Amiga-W to open a shell. The right-hand Windows or Menu key should work as Right-Amiga.

Ole hyv?!

I think that all the newer Nano-receiver models will work, Or any new mouse/kb (1.1 is a bit old now) I think the mouse will move if you hold down the Windows key, or ctrl and then the arrow keys will move the pointer, not really sure which one it was.

Kiitos! Any idea how I can tell which models will work?

I have Logitech USB keyboards already (Logitech Deluxe 250 keyboard). Was looking at buying some B110 mice also. Would they work? How can I check the current KB is working? Is there some KB combo like on Amigas to enable the mouse pointer to move? Or press Windows key?

This bit is messed in our hub code usb hubs

It might be some sort of timing issue, on Aros code we wait 50ms at some point but the spec says no more than 1ms can elapse when evaluating the speed of a device. This is just from a quick glance, we might miss some code also.

Here's what poseidon said when I got my new mb Endpoint has stalled, so it might just be a timing issue as hub code spends too much time before evaluating the device speed

If indeed your mouse is 1.1 compliant then the easy solution would be to upgrade it to some cheap Logitech mouse/kb. I have k260 kb and m210 mouse, I have also only EHCI/XHCI controllers on my mb with active translator hubs.

There is no point using usb3.0 ports at the moment, although they are compatible with usb2.0 we have no usable driver for xhci which is needed (ehci knows nothing about xhci)

Lag of UHCI/OHCI controllers is something that might be a wide spread solution for new motherboards, me and you are the only ones that I know of suffering from this problem at the moment.

Thanks. Sounds plausible. So, what are my options then?

Is there any work on fixing AROS support or is AROS a bust for me now (other than hosted)?

Just a wild guess but I would assume you don't have any UHCI/OHCI controllers on your motherboard, only EHCI(2.0) and XHCI(3.0).

EHCI controller is connected to a integrated hub which does active translation from 1.1 to 2.0 so older usb products can be used. Hub code is broken for active translators on Aros.

I might be wrong for the cause of your problem if your mouse isn't 1.1

It's a bit odd that removing enableusb would hang the boot process...

I boot the Icaros 1.4.5 Live CD/DVD on my PC. At that time I can see my USB MS Mouse is receiving power and there is a nice red glow (and all keyboard LEDs are lit)

I select Icaros Desktop (as I have a Nvidia VGA card). It starts to boot and the red mouse glow disappears and I cannot do anything when Icaros has loaded the desktop.

If I remove EnableUSB from the command line the red mouse glow stays but the Live DVD won't load (stays at "Waiting for Bootable media picture).

I'm using the Intel USB2 ports on an Asrock Z77E-ITX board, not the USB3 ports.

Any ideas?

Edit: Same problems with USB3 ports, both Intel and Asmedia.
