@3seas
Try not to be so glum. Maybe more droll.
Also try not to insult people or us as a group in whole or in part.

@the Rest of You.
I feel that this topic has run its course and continued posts have wandered in to the off-topic and non serious. My thoughs on this topic was more along the lines of AROS trying to find and define its place in the Greater Amiga Community. Who and What is AROS? Not at a piece of software but as an entity(users, software, hardware) How does it/we distinguish it/ourselves from the rest of the Greater Amiga Community, but still feel and be a part of the whole.
With that the first topic here is locked.

its all in the mind. seek and you shall find what ever it is you need to support you opinion of another.

I tend to think my life is boring as a matter of being trapped in it subjectively, but when I look at others and sometimes see their admiration towards me...I realize understanding how one appear to others is something difficult for most anyone.

When I was a child I spoke as a child.... but when I got older I put away my child toys and got different toys or things to do. And I suppose I'm one of the not so common to have my own world goals and a passion to achieve them.

sometimes its better to appear to be non-exciting to others...

Humor???? one of the first things to learn about the internet and written communication is that it is very very limited in allowing you to get to really know another.

There are different types of communicatiion via the internet, from static words such as newsgroups and forums as this to live video interaction ... and those things between such as interactive IRC....

Experience has shown that in each mode or level of communication I am preceived differently.

as to a new term covering Amiga.....

Well quite frankly I prefer to go beyond that and look forward to the day when others make reference to AROS like systems....

:)

For AROS being FOSS means it can and likely will go where Amiga never could with its monitary politics.

Why not a word like "Amigable"

or Aiminga ?

or ACE (Amiga certified Executer) (Amiga Commodore Executing)

or Vegetabliga ? ;)

or Commidore ?

or Amiga-Friendly ? (with a great teddy bear ;) )

or ORCA ? (ORIGINAL RESSOURCE COMMODORE AMIGA ?) with a big blue Orca in logo ;)

All that ideas, as stupid as they are, under copyright of docclick ;), The French who shagged me ;)

maybe we need a term to describe the oh so typical 13 year old type of postings.

Not so much to critisize it, as we were all 13 at some point in our lives, but rather to better define things like forum types and such.

One such Matrix board I was on, shortly after I got tired of the 13 year old babel and over-running of more serious threads with such, decided they to were getting tired of it and moved it to its own type of fitting forum. They also changed their policy that exposures RPG players by disallowing them to post without stating they are role playing.

I suppose that solution direction might apply to 13 year old babeling... Even if it is comming from those claiming to be doing VERY Complex stuff,.....

I am most certainly an AROS supporter and even defend against the Kitty haters who have no balls to do Kitty...

But than thats not really PG13 .... is it?

3seas:
dude, you need to take a chill-pill!
why so serious? maybe you and Billsley should hang out together.

anyway, AROS is a good idea because it lets people have Amiga without the stupid politics. it gives us another method to keep amiga alive. which in my view is a Good Thing.

and as for bananas: eh, relax.
I do projects which are VERY complex and when I am on certain boards, I like to freaking RELAX.
you have a problem with that????

then go find others who want to take themselves way to freaking seriously.
I prefer a more relaxed cadre of folk.

oh, yeah:

I was thirteen once.... a long time ago....

and some of the posts here make me feel like I'm some old man hanging out with 13 year olds......

its just not quite right in feel..

oops! for the cut.... but I'm just being honest...

I guess we'll just have to try and aspire to the adult level of discussion you've been acustomed to in your usual more sophisticated hangout,
The Matrix Community public forums.
j/k :)

do elaborate...

is it really all that interesting how hollywood can take a good movie and turn it into a crappy trilogy and in the process warp the minds of its most ardent followers..... you know... like Amiga...

At one time, there was intelligent and much higher level of wide scope thought put into the decussions you refer to, where you once were able to find me, but since the degeneration via the trilogy.... You won't find me there much anymore. And Oh how the light shine strong in exposure of the hypocrits...

In fact its one of the examples of degeneration I reflect upon in my statement above. Others including Amiga Newsgroups and registeration required boards....

To put it simply: Experience is cause for my reluctance at posting. AROS is way to young to degenerate the aura of user mindset...

Instead the promotion of the mindset of forward movement with intent would likely attract ...... well as knowledge begets knowledge, so is it more specific in begetting its own type of mindset.

and what sort of mindset is begetting of bannana trees and talking silly given the topic?

Then I think of slashdot.....a bit wider spectrum, not just some smaller selective mindset following....

Maybe it's all just a matter of what to expect of message boards in general and their ability to provide a media that allows it audience participation to degenerate to the level of stupid like its some plague.

Its not my intent to sound negitive, but teh wider ability to twist and distort or misunderstand words written on some message board has become a skill some seem to make a religion of practicing.

uh... what was teh subject again?? I've seemed to have gotten stupid with teh help of stupid....
