Well I found my way here again. I had forgotten my password for all AROS-Exec forums, so I used the forgotten password button to receive an email that had a link that was supposed to fix my forgotten password and allow me to input a new password. However, it didn't work that way. Instead, the link that was sent to me returned me to this site logged in, but with no way to update my password, because you must know your current password, to save a new one.

I am not sure what went wrong, but if someone could contact the webmaster and have him/her contact me via email to discuss how I can get a new password in place, I would really appreciate it. I need access to this site, since I am now getting started learning how to use AmigaE and PortablE and plan on visiting here every day.

My email address is the same as my user name here at earthlink.net.

Thanks for any help you can provide me in getting my password problem fixed here.

After it is fixed, I will come back and introduce myself properly.

Edit: Found a 2nd email in my Inbox just now and it contained my new password, so all is well. Please disregard all of the above.

when will there be a new version?

"When it's done" to use a favourite phrase of the OS4 devs!

But I really hope this month if at all possible. Just remember you can't hold free projects to any deadlines :)

Everyone knew it was impossible. Along came a fool who did not know and he did it.

Welcome to the official forum for PortablE! It covers all OSes supported by PortablE, not just AROS, thanks to the generosity of 4pLaY.

Got a problem or question about programming with PortablE? Or want to talk about something you've done with PortablE? This is the official place to do it! Users of all OSes supported by PortablE are welcome (including AmigaOS4, MorphOS & Windows), in addition to AROS.

If you have trouble registered for this forum, then you might want to also try the other official forum as well.

NOTE that by default only posts "From last 100 days" are shown, but you can easily change that to "From the beginning" to see all posts (look towards the bottom of the page for this option).

A bit more info on why I created this forum: While there is a mailing list & IRC channel for E programmers, they are rather old hat. I thought a web forum would be more helpful, since you can see what others have said in the past, and you don't need to be on-line 24 hours a day either! Aros-Exec turned out to be the best placed for an E forum, and since PortablE is the only flavour of E which runs on AROS, that is what it covers.

The following no-longer really applies (but is kept so that replies can be understood) : I am planning a big new release of PortablE, which aims to be much more beginner friendly. If you want to ensure you catch all the info about it, this forum is the best place to do so! Although I'll try to post info on a few other sites (particularly AmigaWorld & Amigans.net).
