Hey Randy, do you have that UK paypal set up yet?

Also I would say the USB bounty should have:

1.1 (OHCI and UHIC)
HID drivers
Mass Storage Device drivers

I think these three things are vital to win the money.

Speaking only as a user. This has to be completed ASAP.

I know there are benefits to running on USB 2.0 but lets get back to basics. Get USB 1.1 up and running and develop further once it is in place.

As bloodline mentioned, the 2.0 devices will fallback to 1.1 so there is no danger in only developing 1.1.

I'm anxious to see AROS become usable. I hope within the next 6 months I will be running AROS only on my x86 machine.

Roll on USB.

Yeah, I wanted to do that but I didn't know when the fat bounty might be completed.

The deadline for FAT32 is July 7th. One can always hope for an earlier date of completion though. And it is open for donation$.

Yeah i would be happy with _even_ USB 1.1 for now so long as the class is written in such a way the usb2 one can over ride it when its done..

ANyhow, we should at least provide basic profiles for the normal classes of device .. though some im not sure we could yet support..

So how should the above be written for the Bounty Requirements?

Can I get a recap/summary of what needs to be changed on this bounty so I can go ahead and post it?

Thanks

One of the Devs over in #aros channel thought the bounty should be for USB 1.1 only, for now. 1.1 would cover most USB devices and the two main conrollers, for 1.1 there are UHCI and OHCI. EHCI (Intel) could be added later on for 2.0 compliance.

Dammy

yeah, get 1.1 out of the way first, most (all?) USB2.0 devices will fall back to 1.1 when needed.

ANyhow, we should at least provide basic profiles for the normal classes of device .. though some im not sure we could yet support..

Input profile - mice, keyboards and what not ..
Storage profile - pen drives, usb hard-disk enclosures etc(dont know if it specifically needs fat support itself or whether they do appear just as a block device which is what i would imagine ..)
USB Serial profile?

Maybe not yet possible

Printer profile.

Im pretty sure there are other base profiles it should support, though some may be optional for now i guess - or suitable for other bounties..

oh, it would be nice to have tools to check all is well on the usb stack of course, something to list whats connected and maybe a USB protocol "packet sniffer"..?
