Re: Aros, UAE, Intrigation??

If I knew how to convince Amiga coders to do anything I would. I don't personally know any. Maybe a bounty??

I was a little relunctant to post this because it always seems to be a heated discussion, but.. I have heard many, many different things regarding the idea of running 86k programs on AROS. Sometimes it is "it will never happen", other times "well maybe." The last thread I read talked about intrigating using UAE with the 68K version of AROS, and passing calls from the 68K to the x86, boy that was a hot thread. There is a current thread on Amiga.org that would seem to dispell this, we are seem to back to the "never" version. I am just a Aros user/fan, well mostly fan at this time. I do not take the stand that Aros must run 68k software, but I do think it would be a good thing. It would allow some software to be avaliable sooner rather than later, native software would devlope slowly. I would just really like to know what the plan is? Is there one at all? The above solution seemed reasonable to me, even with the limitations that it has. Just for the record, not being able to run 68k software will in no way stop me from using Aros!!

Since I too want to have an integrated UAE, I think you should try and convince some old Amiga coders to help get AROS booting on real amigas (and UAE), once that step has been taken, the integrating UAE part should be easy.
