The problem is that AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS aren't compatible with each other when it comes to PPC native programs, so we would have to choose one or the other to be compatible with.

Unless ofcourse the AOS4 and MOS teams could agree on a common ABI, but that doesn't seem very likely due to the infected politics...

Giving the PPC devs a kick up the backside would be a start

Hehehe, seriously though, once Markus and Michal get more time I hope we will see some serious developments on this platform.

Hi,
Will AROS PPC be able to run applications compiled for MorphOS and OS4 ?
I know that some applications may use specific MorphOS / OS4 APIs that AROS will not have but I guess it should not be the case for most of the applications.
What about the binary format ? Is AROS using elf ?
Is there any effort to do a PowerMac port ?

I remember Michal being quite carefull about defining the AROS PPC ABI, so that we could be Morphos compatible to some degree...

OS4 has a totally different library system to AmigaOS (MorphOS and AROS) to I expect compatibility with that would be hard to achive.
