I don't think that AROS font will remain in stone for some reason :P

I guess for two reasons:

1. It isn't the offical aros-log

2. To clearly show that this is a community portal "not connected" to aros.org (although some people contribute to both)

Another version with the official logo might work, but then again I think it's ok as it is...

Thank you, I'm sure not making that much off of the Edge-LE, but I'm trying to provide the customer with a good machine at the cheapest prices possible. Of course TeamAROS gets a small portion of the profit, which will of course help spur on further AROS developement. ;)

Four of the AROS Devs are at a table (sharing it actually, someone was kind enough to give them some room on their table) at AmiGBG today. Adam is showing off AROS on a Edge-LE system (donated by Black Troll Technology Corporation). =)

As far as future Amiga related shows, dunno. That takes a bit of money to man them unless it's real close to an AROS Dev. For a US show, I figure (atleast as far as BTTC is concerned) it would be around $1K in costs (air travel, lodging, rental car, booth, shipping, etc) which isn't easy to make up in selling at shows. :-\

b) Why don't we organise an AROS show sometime in the future to generate interest - say in six/eight months time... this should give AROS some time to evolve and would at the same time provide an important milestone which should do its bit to boost development

Well, some time ago the devs talk about the idea of meeting up (I think London was the most popular suggestion, And I would be happy to host it), but everyone was busy and we never really developed the idea much.

I think there was a table at the last AmiGBG, and will be at the next (which is pretty soon).

Wish I had the time and money to go

Hello everyone,

It's good to see AROS gaining momentum. Aros-exec is bound to become invaluable if only in generating interest in AROS. IMHO AROS is realistically Amiga's ONLY viable hope.

IMHO people should do their utmost to spread the word - a free operating system that (among others) works on x86 has reasonably good chances of drawing developers back to the platform (even if only as a hobby).

A few AROS, aros-exec suggestions:

a) how about placing a link to aros-exec on aros.org?

b) Why don't we organise an AROS show sometime in the future to generate interest - say in six/eight months time... this should give AROS some time to evolve and would at the same time provide an important milestone which should do its bit to boost development

Once again congrats to all the developers for their hard work - it certainly looks impressive already

did I say how much I like AROS?
