That's easy to fix. Boot from CD (the last COMPLETE version you have, and *be sure you're booting from CD*, and not from HDD instead like you're doing now) and enter a shell. Then open DH0: with wanderer, set show > all files, move to Prefs/Env-Archive and look for the Vmwaros directory. Enter it and modify the liveupdmode file from "Auto" to "False". Save and eject the boot CD. Reboot.

@paolone
This might be a bit crazy but, until somebody code for you some kind of dos utility that returns in bytes the size of a disk or of an image, this hack might be the solution: first, the info command returns this:
Unit Size Used Free Full Errs State Type Name
if submitted for one drive only (info dh0: in example) is returning this:
Unit Size Used Free Full Errs State Type Name
The sizes are tabbed in fixed places and this is an advantage so should be not too hard to make a diskcheck utility using lua that: -first make the info command into a text file or a variable then remove the first row of text and in the remaining one check the position allocated for free (23-32) and: -convert the chars 23-31 to a number -check the last letter and if k multiply by 1024, if M by 1.024.000 and if g by 1.024.000.000 (not exact change it by real quotients) then if somebody knows how to get the size of a file from wget BEFORE to download it please let me know and do the same operation, multiply at least by 3 (store zipped, store unzipped and installed) and do the operation. If returns a negative number then stop the update. P.S. : the above is a proof of concept and values are arbitrary; i know that the unzipped size might be way larger. Saimon69

I've found that I need to first eject the CD image and then insert the new one to have disc changes recognised on QEMU in Mac OS. Just choosing a replacement disc image doesn't work (although using the AROS Diskchange command afterwards might make it work this way).

Paolone, Have an interesting bug for you:
Icaros 1.1.1 on kqemu first, i haven't got on how to detect CD changes with qemu (at least using a vistual drive to mount .iso), so I decided to use the internet option for the live updater. The live updater starts to download the iso then at some moment closes the emulation. Guess the reason might be because there is not enough space on the QEMU machine for both the zipped .iso, the unzipped one and the installed files. No idea on how might behave in real hardware in a situation like this,though. I would like to suggest to implement a check disk space function to avoid similar accidents, and stop everything if the space is not enough. Saimon69

You're right sorry. I posted here because the topic announced the release of the 1.1.2 version, and I was thinking the bug was related to that.
I'll create another topic ;)

Ok, so please don't bring this discussion off topic, and open a new one in this same forum. I don't want to seem harsh, but keeping every topic "in topic" helps who finds an answer after some time, to write back in the place where the question was posted. For instance, if 3 months later someone will find why on some configs there is a black screen, he will be more happy to post the solution in a old topic called "Black screens of death in Icaros Desktop", than in "So you wanted Live updates?". Thank you and regards,
