1. Need this for coding on Aros native.. At the moment I am in a "crash heavy" phase..Since Aros boots that incredibly fast, it's no problem, but it would be cool if everything looked like before..eg an opened Shell, opened Wandererdrawer etc..

2. Which brings me to my next question, is it possible to open drawers in Wanderer from the startup sequence?

1. you can't open a shell with the newshell command straight from the startup sequence. You need, instead, to write another simple batch file like

; please open a shell for me
newshell

and then save it as S:openashell

then, you should modify your user-startup adding this command

execute s:openashell

it whould work.

2. use the open command, followed with a path.

I have also a question for skilled people. Is there a way to pass to Open some arguments, in order to open a window with "show > all files" already set up? That would be really helpful for poorarc, since now it opens windows that always seem empty, while instead they are plenty of hidden files.

Indeed, I didn't think of it but that's probably normal because this command uses OpenWorkbenchObject() from workbench.library and I think this very function needs a Workbench (or a replacement like Wanderer) to be running... which I guess is not yet the case when User-Startup is executed.

So another possibility would be to make a script (with the Open command to open the drawers you want, and calling NewShell) and save it in SYS:WBStartup then add a project icon to it (Copy ENV:SYS/def_Project.info SYS:WBStartup/MyScript.info) and change the default tool in the icon to C:IconX (perhaps you'll also have to add DONOTWAIT to the tooltypes).

Yet another way to launch your dev-environment: you can use the FKey commodity (for it to work after every reboot, copy the FKey commodity to WBStartup drawer) and define a new key (for example "ALT ESC") and set the Command to "Run program" and type in the text field: "NewShell from S:Dev-Startup". Now press "Save defined keys" and then copy S:Shell-Startup to S:Dev-Startup and edit it to add all the "C:Open ..." you need.
You'll then get the shell and the drawers opened every time you press ALT-ESC.

Everyone knew it was impossible. Along came a fool who did not know and he did it.

Thanks, that helped me a lot...
I have problems though using the c:open command. It seems to work correctly when i open a new shell window and type it in, but in my user-startup file it seems to do nothing...

You could create a file named S:User-Startup (which is automatically executed by the S:Startup-sequence script itself if it exists) containing the command "NewShell" and you'll get a shell opened at startup.
But do you know that the keyboard shortcut "F12-W" opens a shell from Wanderer at any time?

It is better to leave the startup sequence as it is. But you always can do what you want in S:User-Startup and the following should do what you want:
C:Open Path:to/my/drawer/to/be/opened/in/wanderer/
