Does it boot into AROS, but not show any harddisk icon?

If you used the installer it has to be done a piece at a time, rebooting in-between (ie. partition under Linux or HD-Toolbox, boot AROS, create RDB partition on existing partition using AROS HD-Toolbox, reboot, format using the installer, reboot, install, and you're done). Once it's done you can change the GRUB settings and stick another OS on or whatever.

Provided the install part worked onto a ready-formatted partition then harddisk icons should appear for the harddisk without any need to fiddle.

The only other thing that may affect it is that when I created the partition under Linux I gave it a Linux native ID (83), I'm not sure if GRUB likes other types (?)

The "Drive Icon" on Wanderer is not done yet. I think that you can still get it to happen by mounting maually (using a dos prompt) then doing a reset to Wanderer "ctrl + alt + del", I am not 100% sure. I understand that this and some other really, really nice things are being done to Wanderer. I don't know when those things will be done. Hopefully some if not all with the next release of AROS-MAX. Soon I hope, I have just gotten all the parts for my own personal AROS box. I am just waiting on the next release of AROS-MAX myself.

P.S. Would just like to be the first one to Welcome you abord. You will find the people here very friendly and helpful.

Installing AROS-Max
#1
Hello everyone.

After playing around with the AROS-Max cd (and being pleasantly surprised at how far AROS has come) Ive decided that Id very much like to set up an AROS machine. I cant however work out how the heck to do this. I set up some rdb partitions (used aos3.9 hdtoolbox on the amithlon cd) which seems to work fine, even installing AROS appeared to work, however I still get no drive icons on the AROS workbench. Can anyone help me out here please ?? Im not really too bothered how I set up the harddrive.. mbr or rdb is fine... whatever is easiest to get it working. Im getting itchy fingers to start recompiling some software for AROS (and to try some of the existing ports), so can someone please, please help me out.
Thank you.

P.S. Ideally Id rather not use a host OS unless I can make it invisable to myself once things are set up.
