Dirk Stoecker's ProcessIcon, as it's name suggests, is the tool of choice to manipulate icons. Read the doc to learn how to change the picture of the icon without changing other informations in the info file.

Everyone knew it was impossible. Along came a fool who did not know and he did it.

Do I read correctly between the lines that Ken's icons will be included in the next release? That would be cool! I started to replace some myself, but it is painstaking & my work will probably be gone after updating to the next release. Is there a tool already to replace only the image information? Nope, sorry: AROS probably wouldn't be bootable at all, on such as device. You need an ATA-compatible VMware product.

I'm slowly tuning the look of VmwAROS. It won't change completely, but don't exclude surprises in the future. My only problem is I'm now working both on july and august issues of my magazines, so I've not so many spare time to spend on VmwAROS. Thanks for your patience, the project is still going on.

How about using Ken Lester icons pack 4? They are used in Amikit and AmigaSYS 4.

I am amongst those who would also like to see them included (at least as an option) in Aros. But there has been quite some discussion and some reasons against including them, just have a look at this thread.

I just recently got vmwAROS installed on my machine. I had boot problems too, but solved them by booting an older version of AROS first and then rebooting vmwAROS. Once installed, I rebooted using the earlier version of AROS and installing only its boot loader.

Despite this, I still had problems getting it to work on my machine. In trying to figure out why, I noticed that the AROS installer seems to reserve roughly 15.36 mb before the main partition. This 15 mb shows up as unpartitioned space.

This caused me some issues as, initially, I assumed it was nothing more than empty space. I had installed on a separate drive and then moved the image over to my main drive, causing AROS' GrUB to fail.

What's the significance of this 15mb? And why isn't reserved as a physical partition? Just curious.

Ed.

They work fine in AROS too!

Take a look
