Which copy of AROS-Max are you using? the current version should have ata.device rather than ide.device ... anyway, that aside, I would suggest that when looking at the grub menu you choose a line and try editing it (IIRC you just press 'e') so that it looks for scsi.device instead.

What SCSI controller is it BTW?

soft resetted with CD inserted.... NOTHING.
I tried to mount the cd manually by typing 'Mount cd0:' in a CLI window. It says that "it cannot open ide.device unit 1."
But my CD is SCSI, NOT IDE.

At the mo dynamic CD detection doesn't work, after inserting the CD try a soft reset (hold down Ctrl and then left Windows & right Windows keys together), and see if it shows up then.

It's worth effort, really it is!

booted from floppy first.
Then, once Wanderer appeared, I inserted the cdrom and it was NOT recognized.

There is a scsi.device (not sure what it supports directly) - but I'd have thought if it started grub it could load AROS.

Might be worth booting from floppy first, then seeing if the CD gets recognised - I had to do that with an i810 chipset PC (which also only worked in 4 colours!).

Maybe it's due to my CDROM being SCSI. Is SCSI supported or not (yet) ??

Rather than disabling floppy in BIOS, could you try to disable it for AROS itself, by adding "nofdc" at the end of the "kernel" Grub line?

Follow this subject here :http://aros-exec.org/search.php?query=nofdc&action=results

Any ideas ??

I downloaded AROS-Max and burned the iso to a CD.
The CD boots fine, the grub loader appears asking me to choose a screen resolution.
Then, it requires a floppy, otherwise it doesn't go ahead.
Is it normal for it to require a floppy? Isn't the CD supposed to contain the whole system ?
