I had thought this, but I didn't do that 'cos when I tried loading both (one after the other, not in a script) AROS crashed hard. So I thought that a distro crashing at boot wouldn't get well accepted by the community ![]() Any answer to my question? =)

legacy USB support is done through BIOS of your board - it works in SMM (System Management Mode) which most likely conflicts with AROS for some reason. Quote:
Yes, the issue is fixed with revision r28429 of AROS. It was my stupid mistake. The main process of USB stack was scanning the USBCLASSES: assign for all external classes for USB. At the beginning of the scan it did locked the DosList, but it was unlocking the list in wrong way. The r28429 commit consitsts of:
- UnLockDosList(dl);
That's why the script stopped... Yes, stupid me :)

On VIA EPIA CN-1000 I had to disable lagacy USB support (HID) in order to make it boot. Otherwise it would crash after the mouse pointer pops up.
BTW: I have an issue with loading the USB stack in user-startup. C:Loadresource DRIVERS:uhci.hidd works perfectly when executed in shell but fails to proceed when added within user-startup. It just stops the execution of the script without any output. Any hints?

AmigaOS or MorphOS on x86 would sell orders of magnitude more than the current, hardware-intensive solutions. And they'd go faster.-- D.Haynie

Please, can someone with the old boot problem try the newest nightly build, and tell me if that issue has been fixed?

Tested Live 0.7 on several computers. It`s failed to boot on Via Apollo 133, but has booted on i815 with no problems.
Will there be 0.7.1 soon ? ;) I think, we need to try newer nightly builds to see if there`s such problems

@Kalamatee
This would mean that, anyway, this broblem will be surely addressed in VmwAROS 0.7.1 (that will be released in Live version only).
