Yeah I'll look into fixing the X11 driver once I get CVS... No good reason to have to activate backingstore for the entire X server. Although I have now, and it works great, and does not seem to have an obvious, noticable impact on performance, but then again I haven't stressed it. The x11 driver has two problems, as I see them, first, the one we are talking about, and also, when the window first appears it is created slightly too small, in both width and height. This problem goes away if the resolution is changed.

I'm with ya though, it would be nice if the x11 driver had a refresh option. I guess it would slow aros down though, since it would mean that every write to the driver that aros does would have to be updated both on the screen and in the video buffer, as well as taking a probably meaningless amount of more memory.

Maybe all it needs is a periodic refresh, once every 30 seconds or so.

Screen refresh

Hi,
is there a way to have AROS refreshing its screen without activating backingstore in X11? I'd prefer to keep it turned off, since it affects the performance of my PC...

Tnx,
David
