Ok, I'll wait for it. I'm not planning to release another beta of VmwAROS, though some new interesting programs has come in the last weeks. I don't want it to become a sort of "monthly appointment", however, since there are some major enhancement to Murks!IDE, I will probably release a new beta after I have grabbed, extracted and installed it properly on VmwAROS.

Keep me informed, please,

Actually the next version will bring even a 'major feature enhancement' :)

Actually the current tag is 0.5.6 and I'm closing on 0.5.7 release. The internals of Murks got some serious changes but there are only few changes visible from user perspective:
- no need to close Murks to load another project - you can load/create as many project as you wish
- auto-saving changed files when building
- running the project executable is done in separate console
- output of gcc is redirected to yet another console (so you see the errors)
- signaling that file is changed ( "*" on the file list)

The remaining changes for 0.5.7 include:
- remove file from project
- add existing file to project
- allow configuration of SDK path and make all assigns automatic based on that path

If you would like to, I could prepare the executable for current development version so that you can check the muimaster behaviour.

Hi Heinz,

I've slowly restarted working on VmwAROS after a work overload on my ordinary job, and I'd like to put also Murks!IDE 0.5.4 into it, however, since much time lasted, I have some questions for you:

1. Aren't you releasing 0.5.5? Every time I upgrade murks! in VmwAROS, you release a new version of it the day after. This time I have better asking.

He he :)
No I have no plans for releasing 0.5.5 but please ask Krysztof too. He has joined the Team and has done a code overhaul. Maybe he has added some useful features...

Quote:

2. VmwAROS uses a custom muimaster.library version which reports to be v41 but has all features of v19 (practically, it fools applications looking for it). Murks!IDE 0.5.4 resolved the muimaster.library issue on common AROS installations, however they now sport a plain v19 muimaster.library: would 0.5.4 work also with my customized muimaster.library?

thanks

As Murks will ask for v19 or better, it should accept a library that says it is v41. But as always, you better try it...

BTW. Please put the Murks directory with the examples on an FFS partition. gcc Compiler still cant create a file on SFS partition. I got some Bug reports about Murks not working and it was always an sfs issue.

Heinz, I'd prefer (and I bet I'm not the only one) to extract the archive where I like, not in Sys:. I'd prefer to extract it in work: is there any problem about it? Why should I move Murks! on the slow FFS partition?

The Murks archive contains an updated Development drawer, which is on sys: by default. The gcc may look at this place for includes and libs, regardless where the assigns point to. If you extract it elsewhere, you need to try if all example Projects compiles correctly.
BTW the gcc was reported to have a problem writing files on SFS partitions. Is that solved ?

@paolone

Please update Murks! IDE to version 0.5.4 for the next update of VmwAros. (Just uploaded)

Please extract the complete archive to sys: there are changes in murks and in development directory.

Wish I could help you with that but I think you know more than I do at this point. I am sure the developers will step forward to help you to help us. I am really looking forward to this project, this way more people who have always been curious to develop on aros don't get discouraged by setting up the environment.

Felice Anno Nuovo!!
