Could be. I don't have anything connected to a serial port. I personally didn't enable debug though. If AROS-Max has that turned on by default, that might be it.

Also, the floppy drive thing, constantly accessing the drive, unable to boot sometimes if it can't communitate with the floppy, etc... Can that issue be fixed?

A nice little blurb about Aros-Max. This is from someone who untill recently had not heard of Aros. I gave him a CD.

Very thanks for the answer,

bad, i am without a dev env atm...i hope to reinstall my linux in the middle of the week, (i breaked it tring to setup the real cross compiler).

Anyway is good to know, probably play will not be enabled too.(there is a enable one on the net, but it miss the updates made)

Well if someone send play and lbreakout bin with sound enabled it will be good, otherwise i should wait this new linux install.

I am allready waiting for jac build with sound (scummvm, dosbox, xrick...etc) and kalamatee wanderer update.

i hope fabio check my dev tools setup, than i think we can realease a new aros max.

...and this time for spread the news (on other sites than aros-exec)

regards,

PS: should have lwip1.0 update too! =o)
PS2: i will do fix as much as i am aware of it...so testing feedback is allways welcome.

Indeed, there is no sound in lbreakout2.

You need to make sure SDL-mixer gets compiled before lbreakout2 for sound. I ran into that the first time I tried compiling the contribs.

...ok! (dont know if it will work as we dont have camd driver, but its in).

The file midi_instruments is just what it sounds like: a file full of samples representing all the standard midi instruments. It is used to play MIDI (or MUS in this case) music with a normal sampled sound API (AHI in this case). CAMD isn't needed or used at all. Look at aros_sound.c to see how I decode and play MUS files and mix music and sound effects. Playing MIDI files is nearly identical. MUS is a variation of MIDI format with changes like which channel represents the percussion track.

By the way, the samples in midi_instruments are all 8bit mono samples at 11025 Hz, just like the DOOM sound effects. I always meant to make a better (and larger) MIDI instruments sample file, but never got around to it.

There is a file included with the midi instruments that has the code I used to assemble all the instruments. The only thing missing are all the raw data files. I included it in case someone wished to make their own instruments file which was compatible with mine.

No, the background image didn't work. All I got was a plain gray background. Forgot to mention that. Maybe it's related to DOpus not running - certain assigns aren't being done so the <stuff> needed can't be found.

that is my opinion too, but didnt find what is breaked yet! =o/

strange dopus issue.

did you got the background image working?

regards,

Make sure to use the larger of the two midi_instruments. The smaller one is okay, but mirrored a bunch of instruments and chopped others short to get the size down. The larger one sounds much better.
