Zune's API is identical (apart from bugs) to MUI's

It should be perfectly possible to compile AROS+Zune apps for AOS3.x+MUI

That's not very correct. Zune includes MUI API, but also extends it, and many AROS-specific apps depend on those extension, and also on other parts of AROS that are not available in AmigaOS.

So it may not be just a matter of recompiling, from AROS + Zune to AmigaOS + MUI, however the other way around works just fine 99% of the times.

-Edit- but some of those apps might not make sense on an AOS3.1 system (AROS uses a different prefs handling system AFAIK)

Mmm, no, the prefs handling system is just like the one in AmigaOS. The low-level details, that is, like the structures used and the file formats.

I'm working on one of them, and if Zune becomes second nature to me, I'll work on others as well.

Yes the plan is to move everything to Zune... I see you are already having a go, so that's good

Not to discount intuition, which does still have a place in AROS, but just not on the desktop

Yeah, I'd like to see AROS avoid the Intuition, MUI, ClassAct, Reaction, ... mess that AmigaOS ended up with.

Is "Zunification" a word?

hmmm, not sure there is a specific plan, but my personal opinion is,

NEW apps (ie from scratch) should use Zune
All current apps/prefs should be converted over to Zune

anything being ported can us intuition as a 'first stop' but ideally would end up also using zune.

i also think more components should be turned into zune classes so that AROS Zune apps can expect them and share the funcionality. It would be nice if more folk had time to write "basic" or core classes and give developers a wider choice for doing interfaces - perhaps even improving on the current ones.

lets face it - intuition and most of the other gui engines dont offer the flexabilty Zune/MUI does to compete with modern guis on other systems.
