Well, I must say that I don't have vacancies during the summer, only hard job because of the hotel.

Nevertheless, we have one more month until close down for winter period, so I will have more free time for AROS and others.

P.S.: I have one silly question. What an AROS Greek forum is that, that we don't speak our native language

Elpizw na katalabate e?

Alright!

Try to look through the pages mentioned above to find those that seems the easiest to you. Then, start the translation and don't forget to inform the rest of us (in this thread perhaps) so no more than one works on the same topic. (Unless its needed!) My suggestion is to finish first the download and ports pages since they have been semi-translated and they look ugly.
It would be great if you two can take the responsibility for the above pages in whole, so I can move on with other translations like the installation page. I can help of course wherever you need any kind of help.
Perhaps we could meet online in #aros channel (IRC) to discuss one or two things. I have checked that amigean's last time there was almost 2 years ago :) Also, Phantom, we expect you too :) I'm usually online at night (23:30/24:00+), GMT +2 (Greek time).

hi again,

Thanks for the taking the to look into this ikoniari. For my part, I've just came back from a long trip - will have a look at these over the weekend and try to do a small bit. Hopefully others can chip in too. ;)

Well, guess what, I took sometime yesterday to look through the pages, and... I have the results :)

For the time being, the following documents/articles would be good to start being translated.

1. The news (status updates) you can find at the main site from 2007-03-06 to 2007-04-05. These are basically the three items still in English language in the current main page. The newer have been translated.

2. Text still in English language in the downloads page. That is basically the descriptions of the files available for download, you can see below its one's name.
http://aros.sourceforge.net/el/download.php

3. Texts in the screenshots page, starting from the latest.
http://aros.sourceforge.net/el/pictures/screenshots/

4. Text still in English language in the ports page.
http://aros.sourceforge.net/el/introduction/ports.php

We haven't talked this out with someone but well, I was the only man translating so there wasn't someone to :)
I tried to keep my translation casual, meaning that I tried to avoid the use of strange Greek equivalent terminology. From my experience I have seen that it may be more accurate and correct, but at some point tends to confuse some people. One common example is that I used the word 'server' in the translated pages instead of the Greek equivalent of 'διακομιστής'. Also, 'downloads', 'screenshots' instead of 'λήψεις' and 'στιγμιότυπα' that I find somewhat confusing.
Let me know what you think, and If you will try to keep it that way.

Also, just one small note that might help you while trying to translate. If a word seems confusing or it seems like that there might be more that one equivalent words in Greek language, try looking it up at the el.Open-Tran.eu page. It will search for the translation of the word you have provided (if it exists) in the most well known Open Source software (KDE, Gnome etc)

This sounds like a great plan! Thank you for agreeing to do all this. I might start a thread in www.amigahellas.gr inviting others to join in. I can think of at least one other person who might be interested in this kind of work.

Hello amigean.

Thanks for your reply. Your idea seems fine by me. For the time being, I'm a little busy too, but in a week or two I will look extensively through the site's pages, I will choose which are useful and can be translated (not all fit in the "TODO" category, since some sections are not completed or they will be changed in the near(?) future) and I might post a small list in this thread.
Then you can pick yours, inform us and start the work. This way you can stay away from all the fuss to get access and start messing with the SVN server. I think you will agree.

Have a nice day.

Hi ikoniari and welcome!

I would love to help, but I live a very busy existence - I can say that I *may* dive in occasionally if a list of tasks/short documents/passages was appended (perhaps in this thread?) so myself and others could take our pick.

What I'm trying to say is that it would be great if someone (you perhaps?) could co-ordinate the effort, break down the tasks, keep them in one place and therefore lower the time cost for other willing participants.
