I've done a pile of reading up on this, and wading through all the PR ... you're right about the OS being what decides it!

Morphos is nice both technically, and in it's handling of old 68k code. OS4 is a natural progressor to OS3.9, but as you've not been using that anyway it would be just as big a gap as jumping to Morphos.

Once Morphos 1.5 arrives and OS4 gets it's final release they'll both have about the same level of functionality. Best thing it to try out both if you can!

I'm just sitting on the fence waiting for both to finally arrive before choosing It's worth noting that Linux support under Pegasos hardware is much better.

I find myself in a position where I am able to purchase one of these systems. I have not used an Amiga in about 12-13 years and never a Peg II. I would like to get the opinion of the people on this board, especially if you have used OS4 and/or MorphOS.

Personally I think the hardware specs on a Peg are nicer then an A1. But the OS is more inportant to me. I am sure that there are people who have been folling both in more detail than I and your opinion is wanted.

Apps, which seems to have better app support. Which one do you think has a better chance of getting 3rd party software?


I do realize that it will only be an opinion and I do not want a flame war please. I am trying to make a decission on how to spend $1000.00 and I though I would go to people who's opinion I value.
