About drivers. I have heard (read on message boards) that using Linux (or it might have been BSD) drivers would be possiable. But that is all I have ever heard. It would be intereting to know if this is really possaible and what it would take to do it.

well, when i first saw this topic, i thought it was non-sense (cause if we go uae, i thought, was the same going m68k), but after fabio post...well it would be some benefits:
we could have a better start-point for: - the 68k port - the uae/aros integration i dont know amitlon or umilator, but from aros (both above, maybe more i dunno) and uae (kicstart and workbench replacement) point of view would be very nice! regards,  |

Would the Linux kernel make UAE intergration into AROS easier since they are both applications? I realize for long term it's clearly not the answer, but it would give for the short term alot of useful applications to AROS. That and perhaps bring in some fence sitters who would like to use AROS on x86 but have issues about running UAE as an application vs seemless intergration. Dammy

How tough would it be to get AROS to run under emulation, like under UAE? IIUC, it would be a perk for not only sandbox (memory protection) but allow for a AROS version of Umilator.
