Hi Mazze,

I'd say: Go ahead with the porting. I, for one, would
definitely use it. UnArc has always been my archiver of
choice, and MorphUp just looks slightly more advanced
version of it.

If it's not too difficult, otherwise there are, of course,
other already existing alternatives.

Thanks.

Regards,
Kotler

Nice. Nobody is preventing him from porting it. Geit has some interesting applications, but he usually wants to use VBCC compiler. Our include headers aren't currently compatible with that compiler.
MorphUp OTOH is already open source, but as already said, I think it's a waste of time to port it.

I quoted something from Geit about Grunch for AROS:
Quote:

Ich werde hier kein weiteres System aufsetzen. Weder in Hardware noch in Software.

Google Translation:

1) Does it cost only useless time, money and space.
2) If it goes wrong and other systems are affected, see 1

The only thing I would be here next to a VBCC AROS target does not apply, a live CD with finished SDk + compiler, editor, SVN Client and SMB would support. But also because of the benefit / Auswand would be to run two computers and to lose the option to make a call to create a correct archive to be too much.

Generally have little desire I feel when I'm with OS4 and his "Everything is different and renamed" mentality is to screw up and I have tons of allegedly "false battling assignments) and my source code with the same number of # ifdefs.

What about Grunch? The author was talking about porting it to AROS recently.

Now that we have libxad (thanks to Kalamatee) it's probably an easy task to port MorphUP. I wonder if there is still interest, because in the meantime we have distros with frequently updates.

It looks like even on MorphOS it isn't used that much

I'm hearing some rumblings over in #aros over this as not being capable enough. I'll try to get some answers over the weekend.

That looks good enough to me. Anyone have a better description for the port?

I use MorphUp and I think this is very good idea to have it under AROS :)
