My last computer had an K7S5A and I had no problems booting AROS native. Now that was a year ago, so something might have been added that the K7S5A doesn't like.

What! People still use floppies?

When AROS (Finally) has USB drivers, these issues should slowly begin to fade.
I have a printer/card reader/scanner + Modem connected to USB. It isn't that the USB devices themselves are causing the problem. It's the USB.

Don't worry Celia, were all here to help you along. As your machine has a floppy drive getting the floppy version of AROS running would be the quickest, simplest way to get started.

Hmmm, I've never had to disable/unplug any USB device on my machine to boot an AROS iso. I usually have a USB-mouse, printer and cardreader connected, none of them seem to bother AROS here. Glad it appears to help for others tho

Have you tried the following? well, i haven't TRIED anything. before I download the img file and make a CD, I am investigating info. just so you know I have a year old Dell laptop - which is why it still has a floppy drive, btw it's a P4 and has an nVidia card. and, of course a CD/DVD drive. like i said somewhere around here, i'm REAL new to this. So, i'm taking all this slowly. thanks!!
