What about making the bounties open to AOS/MorphOS coders, too? Ie. they code it for AOS/MorphOS and we port it back to AROS.

There are a few problems with that.

1. The code is most likely already existing for MOS/OS4.
2. Why should AROS supporters donate to another OS and then have to wait, or pay again, to have it ported to AROS?
3. How will the x86/x86-64 vs PPC issues be solved?

i agree, and think that is a very good point, aos/morpho/aros are plaing in the same field, and the bounties first goal is atract new developers to contrib with it...nowdays, the bounties are assigned for aros developers (that is good, money is allways good), but lost the focus of bring NEW devs...very good point, i dont know how to make it work, use the TeamAros for merge the 3 community...but for sure it would be great see that one port project target the 3 at once!

regards,

TCP/IP Bounty is still open for more donations. Wez is in the middle of getting ready to move from the UK to the US so his time is fairly limited he can put towards AROS. I would think more money on this VERY important bounty may help to insure completion by the new deadline.

with tcp/ip it will be possible to use aros (with uae) for ervery (uae emulated) thing , it just need a working installer, the tcp/ip (best with dhcp support) and uae with network support! =o)

There'll definitely be a lot of talking once those bounties are complete! The tcp/ip stack is going to open up a lot of opportunities for coders to port some more everyday functionality into AROS. It's what I'm waiting for to dedicate a computer to AROS, plus I'll have finished my degree by then so I'll have more time for old hobbies.

AROS is cool so lets all talk about it!

Just consider it a lull before the storm. I would presume some of the coders are busy with school (atleast in the US, it's finals time, not sure if this is a big testing period in Europe or not). Summer should be a rockin' time for AROS. Checkout assigned bounties that are due in June/July. =)

So whats up? Is the party over? Seems like whenever I visit this site, no matter what time it is, only myself is logged on as a member. Kinda frightening really.
