I have an aros formatted USB (SFS) that is recognized byt he AROS Installer... but it is not recognized by the program that creates the installable pen drive. :(
Ah.. scratch that. I can see now that it is simply not formatting the USB. It says it is.. but it obviously is not working correctly because it takes a blink of an eye and says Partition complete. Then when you go back and try to use that partition, it doesn't see it. Attach file: (0.00 KB)

I would gladly pay you through PayPal but I'm moving in 2 weeks so I don't want something to get lost in the mail (US mail is not known for being reliable).
Let me try doing this through VM again (Icaros). I was able to create a bootable Icaros once but have never had luck creating an install usb. Let me try again.

Tommy: That is real sad :(
The reason we don't have a way to make a bootable usb from other OS is the file system that must be ffs or sfs. What if I send you a usb with everything installed? I think I have some usb stick I can give you for free. If you are not intrested anymore what you want for the laptop?

Yeah.. I see those. Dunno.. I give up though. I don't understand why AROS doesn't have a way to make a bootable USB. CD/DVDs are super antiquated. It's hard to find a machine that even has a drive anymore.
I tried making a bootable USB through VM and Icaros but couldn't figure that out either. I'm pretty darn techy so if I'm not figuring this stuff out... getting new users to AROS is not gonna happen for the average person. I'll try to find a use for this laptop.

Tommy: You could always try to download some Linux distribution that is also some iso image and try to burn that to a disk but it is no point.
I'm 100% sure there is nothing wrong with the ISO I uploaded. If the ISO is burned correct you will from windows see all the directories on the CD or DVD. Do you see dirs like this on the CD: c, devs, libs?

I'm pretty sure it is not burned to be a bootable disk as you said. It is still not something special you should do that make that. ISO file should automatic, default be burned as a bootable live disk.
Windows will display the files on it. If the disk only show you the iso file burned to disk it is for sure wrong.

Yeah.. I even disabled the hard drive from booting.. it just won't boot from that disk. What's strange is that I can see the disk on Windows.. as if it's a standard data disk. Is that right? Shouldn't Win see it as something else?

Tommy: In Windows 7 it is just to double click the iso to burn it but I don't know about Windows 10.
That is if you have not changed default burning program. You press F12 and select optical drive of cause? If you don't do that at least you have to get into BIOS and set optical drive as first boot device.

I don't think I'm making a bootable disk. I'm using Win10, right clicking the iso and saying "burn to disk". Let me try doing this in Linux.
