I guess you'd better contacting me in private, if you wish to discuss any project with or regarding Icaros. About your questions 1. there is almost no commercial system bundling Icaros Desktop at the moment 2. SSH is not supported, we don't have a SSH client for AROS, although a remote shell server is included with the distribution. You can telnet to a Icaros computer from another PC on the local network. 3. Icaros Desktop obviously provides the AROS CLI and also a port of bash (just enter sh in a CLI to run it). 4. there are, indeed, some sort of commercial Amiga still existing today: they're called AmigaONEs and basically are PPC based motherboards running the current version of AmigaOS (4.1). I say 'some sort of' commercial because I don't believe their "we sell underpowered machines at crazily high prices to some hundreds of fanactics" market strategy really being 'commercial' at all. 5. You don't need to get crazy to test it. You can install it into a virtual machine or, if you prefer, as a single application on your current operating system. you should find the time to try it, you could do an installation on usb stick for the time being

I have a project in progress (for the moment it is a personal project) the time to refine the whole. I have some assets but it is not won because it is not easy to find a reliable "Amiga Desktop".
It's really sad that Amiga no longer exists "commercially". I have not yet had the opportunity to test IcarOS or Aros; but it's a project that takes time to devote to it. There are other priorities that make everything take time.

Hello,
I want to get "current" information about Icaros Desktop. I saw that version 2.2 of Icaros was recently released. Are there commercialized mods? by mods I mean a box with a pc with Icaros Desktop installed on it? About SSH is it supported? I'm interrested by AmigaEmacs, Cli and AmigaShell also... Can Icaros Desktop get a stable "Amiga" system? best regards, dCompute.
