Hi,,

Great and thanks for taking a look. I think AROS is the only Amiga like OS without the necessary linking USB support.

Let us know if it is possible. Or if a bounty is needed, donations or hardware help?

Jeff

there is nothing else to do but wait, however, you could propose bounty, it is to be considered, that programmers work assiduously

Hi,

At the moment, I am trying to understand the bounty process, sadly not as a coder, and to see what is required to start one for a first stage midi through usb support.

I am aiming to develop small bounty idea(s) that bring something useful to AROS but would not require a lot of time and effort. Hopefully, a greater chance of success.

Can the wishlist be a stage for developing bounty ideas in the hope of a developer coming along and then transferred later to a bounty?

Is the bounty system broken, asleep, in need of reinvention or further promotion?
Steve Jones prefers to talk to coders one-to-one, is this now the current idea?

it would be a good thing for someone to do porting, but also lacking support software, if there is the source code for bars n' pipes.

what are you offering?

Creating a bounty or doing it yourself?

Bounties without developers taking them mostly fail

Hi,

Would my list of items be ok or are they are amendments and additions needed?

Is the offer of equipment ok?

If the list of requirements is satisfactory, how does this get transferred to an actual bounty?

CAMD Midi driver library update

Hi,

Would there be any interest in the above?

devs/midi usb driver for camd.library adapting the m68k in AROS/rom/usb/classes/camdmidi/poseidonusb.asm to C.
Update camd to 50.8http://os4depot.net/share/driver/misc/camd_src.lha if needed
A small app to select various midi interfaces / controllers and monitor input and output

Bounty ends when binary driver is tested with a few hardware options 32bit and 64bit, endian neutral and source(s) placed in the AROS repository under an APL license

This is just to get the pieces in place so that software apps have a chance of working. This would not cover any midi software like bnp etc

Are the above steps complete enough and possible in a short coding time span ?

Would hardware like a small 25 key usb midi controller be necessary or 5 pin legacy with interface be needed as well?

Any thoughts?

Jeff
