I think this may be due to the nvidea driver. I don't use 3D much, but have shown it every year at the Stratford conmputer fair and every year I'll have several lock-ups when people were playing Cube2 (so this is not a new 2.2 problem). I'd though it was due to a hardware issue on my machine (it's a bit of a Frankenstein's monster), but after going through making sure no bits of circuit-board can touch the casing etc. I'm forced to accept its software. The other possibility I'd thought of was the rtl8169 driver, as this has been suggested as causing instability elsewhere on aros-exec. So yesterday, as Cube2 needs a live TCP stack to run, I set the network to point to a known stable one and still got the same lock-ups. It's the same distribution as on my laptops (which are completely stable), and the only main difference is the graphics card. I have a 512 MB ram one - I wonder if it's running out of video memory? Cheers, Nigel.

Have you tried the trick of pausing the video and then restarting it? Cheers, Nigel.

Tried to install 2.2.1 on my Thinkpad (that used to work without problems since ages with all previous versions (VESA mode)) and I get a black screen when the booting process ends (at least the cd stop running).
I tried all the options of the grub menu without success. The VGA option gives a messed screen

1. Freezes that never happened before? This is strange. 2. This is normal. From now on, I decided to show just the main and point release, not the update level. Have a look at envarc:icaros/CURRENT_INSTALL for the versioning. After the update, it should tell 2.002001. On version 2.2.0 I forgot to update it as well, and that's why the update pack to 2.2.1 is available for both 2.2 Xmas Edition and 2.2 official release.

I have Icaros 2.2 (without the update) and I got to random freezes. I found that is cause by 3D graphics card, if I load vga driver the system is more much stable. Do you have a nvidia graphic card ?
