Ah, a 32 bit application running on 64 bit architecture / OS

For that i have to rely on the linux experts that are perhaps around, but here is a small thing that you could perhaps try.

Do note the generic ubuntu question and the (old) version. Things might work differently for your Xubuntu (please refer to your Xubuntu manual/faqs for that).

Exec bit was the first thing I checked. The path is valid and the file is in its expected location. I can run file on it and get the filetype. But when the icaros script, which is in the root of sys: is executed in a term window, it gives "file or directory not found" even though the path is valid and the file is present. Linux system is Xubuntu 16.04.1 x86-64.

This is everything done.

Hi HiroProX,

In case you experience such 'weirdness' then you are not executing the script from the root directory (SYS:) of AROS.

The dot in the name is problematic in case you are using shortcuts or the like. In that case use the full path and set the working directory to AROS root dir.

The reason for that is that arosbootstrap uses relative directories that are relative to sys: / starting directory.

In case nothing is working for you then please report back with a full explanation of what you did exactly to cause the error.

edit: since you're on linux, is the execution bit set ?

Hosted install script results is some severe wierdness. The most pressing being that the icaros script fails at ./Arch/linux/AROSBootstrap with "file or directory not found" when the file is clearly present. Even trying to manually invoke AROSBootstrap in its directory results in the same error.

I like the new theme, it's very close to what I would have done if I'd gotten around to it. Simple and elegant. Some may not like it because it's "flat", but whatever, choice is always good.

If I may make an observation, the H scrollbar is a little higher than centre in the window frame. Also the left end of the H scrollbar and top of the V scrollbar almost align with the window contents, but not quite. It would be nice if they either align with the start of the window content or if they start a set number of pixels in.

Also, and this is only personal preference, I would make the title bar gadgets a little larger and move them out a little towards the the window edges. Ie. If, for example, each gadget is centered in an invisible box (a button), the button edges are the same number of pixels from the top, bottom and ends of the titlebar, and from each other, if that makes sense.

I really like it though, and thanks again for making it happen!

In the meanwhile, I've worked a little on the new default decoration theme for windows (it will be included in the final release of Icaros 2.2). Any suggestion?

1. issue with fryingpan/libs is due to my scarce attention. I forgot to modify these lines in icaros-sequence

If EXISTS extras:Filesystem
ASSIGN Libs: sys:Utilities/FryingPan/Libs ADD
PATH extras:FileSystem/PoorARC ADD
endif

in order to fix it, you should modify the ASSIGN this way:

ASSIGN Libs: extras:Filesystem/FryingPan/Libs ADD

this should let the shell screen go. I wonder how the hell this line could survive to weeks of testing.

As for your last question: very old partition tables (pre 2.1 era) might not work with newer AROS system files.

With requester I mean the thing which ask the user at the first startup.
BTW I can see an Shell window looking for a frying pan library at boot.

Hmmmmmm... fryingpan you say? I will check for issues. Maybe moving it away from default application set I forgot something.

Please try using a clean VM (created from scratch) to test Icaros 2.2. Thank you so much for testing.
