I can't say what's the difference either, but I can tell you where to look - the source code. The latest version of AHI was recently released (it's in the news section), so just download the source archive and look at the camd code. When in doubt, go to the source (code).

well, i saw that ahi support camd, but dont got the point (what the diference of have a ahi camd driver or a camd driver?!!?!?)

i did google, but not much info, i look into mpu-401 programming, and a question appear...how camd and gameport are related? (as we can have a midi or joystick connected on the port, and camd handle midi and gameport handle joystick)

camd.library is a MIDI playing library for the Amiga. AHI now has support for it. Other than that, I don't know much about it. Google for camd.library to learn more.

Yes, the same driver should work on different arch as long they use the same method of access. For example, a PCI SB Live card is the same in either a Mac or a PC. Allowing the the different endianness of the CPUs, and given a PCI HDD driver for both, the same SB Live driver should work on either arch. Of course, a Mac version of AROS isn't done yet.
