Version 1.5.1 of AROS distribution Icaros Desktop is now available for download, in all three flavours (Live!, Light and update pack for current Icaros users).

eGame allows you to keep an easily searchable list of games for playing - rather than having to hunt through lots of folders using Workbench/Wanderer/Ambient. Please note that eGame is only able to start games that you can already run by double-clicking them.

This is it! Airsoft Softwair has saved their greatest firework for New Year's Day! MUI Royale is a plugin for Hollywood that finally allows you to easily create MUI GUIs with Hollywood. MUI Royale supports over 40 MUI classes including popular third-party classes like TextEditor.mcc and TheBar.mcc. Creating and managing menustrips is also fully supported. The plugin sets new standards concerning the ease of use because the GUI layout can be conveniently defined using an XML file that is converted into a MUI GUI by MUI Royale on the fly. GUI design has never been so easy! Of course, new features of MUI 3.9 (AmigaOS 4) and MUI 4.0 (MorphOS) are also supported.

Patch 01 for Icaros Desktop 1.4.5 has been released. This little update does the following:

If you're using Icaros Desktop version 1.4.2, please download and install the update pack to v.1.4.3: there won't be a full Icaros Desktop Live! 1.4.3 release as usual. The new version should fix some issues with Development stuff, updates system files to a recent build and brings some programs to their latest version, for instance WildMidi library, MP3 Player and LoView.

An early beta of the ADoom3 port for AROS is currently waiting for approval on aros-archives.

You will need the original game data files (for normal doom3 or resurection of evil) patched to version 1.3.1.

Theres is a serious bug in the doom3 game code somewhere that locks up AROS when you enter the marine base, but it should be possible to skip it using the noclip command in doom3's console.

Network support is not yet implemented

Krzysztof 'deadwood' Smiechowicz released an update of his MPlayer port for AROS/x86. It is based on Fabien 'Fab' Coeurjoly's current MorphOS version of the video player.
