Copied dos.library from nightly of 20140916 to Icaros 2.0.1 and got the 'insert volume sys' error.

Once booted, opened shell and went to a dir with a configure script. Checked stack at 1024000, did sh and dir (all normal). Then entered ./configure and nothing happened. Waited for a minute and still nothing.

Can you take dos.library from 16/9, install it on your build and let me know if it works?

@deadwood:

This is what i was able to figure out so far:
13/9 works ok
16/9 works ok
02/10 error
06/12 error
13/12 error

It would be nice if someone else out there could test a v0 nightly between 16/9 and 2/10

In case of error:
- open a shell
- stack 10240000
- sh
- dir (sometimes borks directly)
- configure (hang)

In case everything works as it should:
- open a shell
- stack 10240000
- sh
- dir (shows correctly a directory)
- configure (no configure found , or something to that extend. At least no hang, should return to prompt withouth errors)

Can you define what do you mean by "older versions"?

Ah, I just now noticed my typo above.

I'd meant, "sh ./configure", not "./sh configure" as I originally wrote.
You're correct Paolone "./sh configure" will do nothing
Funny thing is, I suspect I was actually trying to use that at times, which may have been the times it did nothing (as it should).
I swear Im getting dyslexic or something as Im getting older. I find my typos becoming just plain wrong words more frequently of late, and completely unrelated as often as not. Oh well, cant fight age.

edit: too many damn smileys.

p.s. Had to fight urge to put a smiley after my edit note.

Ok, I'd say this should be in my "to be fixed wish list" for 2.0.2...

@beezle/cavemann:

Thanks you both very much for the confirmation/feedback. it's highly appreciated :thumbsup:

@deadwood:
I forgot to mention. Just as cavemann did, i also tested a 'native' v0 nightly with same results (exact date eludes me, but it was about one/two weeks ago).

No matter what, isn't configure obligated to tell me: "nothing to configure" ? I can't even get to that stage.

That being said, i've attached a configure file for cabextract that worked correctly on older versions (both native and hosted).

I also attached a screenshot of my v0 windows hosted message (in the hope it gives away a clue for the configure topic or otherwise might be helpful)

PS: and the last tidbits of console output on hosted to accompany:

The v0 branch only gets a few critical fixes so its weird things stopped working on it.

@magorium, cavemann

Please upload somewhere the ./configure files you are using and I will debug it.

Just to double-check - you made sure stack is around 500k, right?

I'm having this problem too. Configure (or ./configure) seems to lock up the shell with the latest Icaros and also with a recent nightly.

(Beezle, I just tried using Ctrl-C to get out, but it had no effect, and Alt-C displayed a nice copywrite symbol )

And using make seems unstable too, and can pop-up an error requester (depending on the line being run).

Thanks for bringing this up, magorium
